The information revolution has given ënterprises a wide range of technologies for better managing their operations and supply chains.  Furthermore,  increasing customer demands and global competition have given firms the incentive to improve these areas.  But this is not enough.  

In spite that the CEO and the CFO they are the direct responsables,  the cio is an indirect responsable because of his responsabilities concerning the integrity and the reliability of all the data in the information system. 

Each program should be strongly associated with the organization's overall mission.  That is,  the organization's executive leaders should work from the mission to identify several overall,  major goals that must be reached and that,  in total,  reach the mission.  If an idea for a program comes up at some time other than during strategic planning,  executive leaders must ask themselves if the program is really appropriate for the organization.
